1. Make sure that your PC is connected to the Internet.
Open the Olympus Master Software which comes with your camera.

2. You now have two possibilities:
Either you click on Update Camera/Language directly in the start window or you choose Browse Images in the start window, go to Online-Service in the top menu list and choose Camera Update:

3. After selecting the Camera Update function Olympus Master shows a window with security advice.

Please make sure that your battery is fully charged !
Attach your camera via USB cable to your PC and turn the camera ON.
You will see the following image on the display:

Choose PC and press the OK button of the camera.
Then choose OK in the following Olympus Master window:

4. Olympus Master will recognize the actual version of your camera now.
Click Check for latest version and the software searches the Olympus homepage for new camera firmware versions and for additional languages.

5. Then you can select to upload the update.

7. You can also start the language update by choosing your local language.
It's possible to start firmware and language updates together in one step or separately – both are possible:

8. After choosing the Update button Olympus Master will now download the new language and / or firmware to your camera. Please do not remove any cable or the battery while the camera is processing:

9. After the download procedure the camera display will show OK. You can remove the cables and turn the power OFF. After restarting the camera you will be able to choose the functions in your local language if you have chosen this update.
