Unshakeable power with the Olympus µ [mju:] 750

Anyone who wants to get close to the action should take a good look at the Olympus µ [mju:] 750. Featuring a new 5x zoom lens, it is great for scrutinising objects that are a bit further away, plus the 7.1 million pixel CCD delivers photos bursting with detail – all of this, squeezed into a tiny weatherproof* metal body. To make the most of its powerful zoom, the µ [mju:] 750 features Dual Image Stabilisation to safeguard against blurring caused by camera shake. This model is equipped with 23 special scene modes to make most familiar shooting situations even easier to get the settings just right.

The Olympus µ [mju:] 750 looks gorgeous and is available in a choice of colours, either Starry Silver and Midnight Black. Its gently tapered design makes it a treat to hold, but anyone thinking that its good looks are just skin deep should beware! Inside this beauty is a beast of a lens and a 7.1 million pixel CCD that together deliver razor-sharp photographs.

The versatile 5x zoom lens on the µ [mju:] 750 is great for capturing wider scenery and then zooming in to scrutinise specific details. So that photographs always look their best, the µ [mju:] 750 has been equipped with Dual Image Stabilisation to help avoid camera shake. This remarkable feature uses a built-in gyro sensor to detect if the camera moves as the shutter is pressed. If it does, the position of the CCD is shifted slightly to compensate for this. The second safeguard against camera shake is that its sensitivity to light is increased so that faster shutter speeds can be used to reduce the effect of the camera moving.

Achieving great results on the µ [mju:] 750 couldn’t be easier, as a choice of 23 special scene modes have been included to cover just about every common photo situation, including Beach & Snow, Fireworks, and Sports. Operating the µ [mju:] 750 is straightforward, but if you should ever need a reminder of what a particular function does, you can turn to the built-in Guide Function for help. This explains the cameras’ main functions directly on the LCD screen – a bit like having the instruction book built in!

Thanks to the BrightCapture Technology, framing and taking photos under low-light conditions is no longer a difficult affair, as its high contrast 6.4cm LCD screen is around 4x brighter than normal, making aiming the camera much easier. The same technology is also put to good use improving both photos and movie clips taken in low light. This makes capturing the true atmosphere of candlelit dinners, indoor parties, or other night scenes much easier – particularly with still photos, as you don't always need a flash.

An underwater case is available for the µ [mju:] 750 so that the camera can play a part in today’s more active lifestyles. The Olympus PT-034 Underwater Case will take it down to depths of 40m, so that even creatures of the deep won’t escape the gaze of that 5x zoom!

Great ergonomic design, a choice of colours, exceptional zoom performance, BrightCapture Technology and a mechanical image stabiliser mean the µ [mju:] 750 is unshakeable when it comes to looks and versatility. The µ [mju:] 750 will be in stores from September 2006.
