“A good image forces the beholder to stop and engage with it”, says Klaus Bossemeyer. The 25-year veteran of reportage photography should know, he’s travelled the world taking pictures, often hauling up to 35 kilograms of equipment around with him in the process. That was until he discovered the Four Thirds-based E-System, which cut his load in half. Now he’s trying out the system’s newest addition, the Olympus E-3, and he likes what he sees.
Klaus Bossemeyer is the quintessential all-round photojournalist. He’s produced work for countless international magazines and has a thing or two to say about the value of a camera as versatile as the E-3. He describes its advantages during a session in a dimly-lit basement in Istanbul:
“In this location, the most important feature of the new camera is the new wireless remote control flash system. I use the new flash system here because I don’t want to disturb the atmosphere”, says Bossemeyer. “Another important feature is the image stabiliser. I’m sure that image stabilisation will change the language of photography.”
