Philip Volkers, born 6th September 1980, grew up in the Wiltshire countryside. After an education at Sherborne School, he studied Philosophy and Comparative Religions at The School of Oriental and African Studies, UCL. Since then he has travelled extensively to India, the Middle East and the Burning Man Festival, Nevada. These early influences of nature, alternative cultures and travel can be seen as themes throughout his work and continue to inspire him.

Philip has worked at Metro Studios, and assisted Robert Fairer working as backstage photographer for American VOGUE.  He has attended the International Collections in Paris, Milan and London for the past three years.
Philip photographs commercial and high fashion, celebrity portraits and weddings, fundraisers, and other events. His talent lies in capturing the moment when an individual’s personality is laid bare enabling the viewer to understand a little more about his subject.

His clients have included Arcadia Group, Apple Mac, BBC, Olympus, Vogue UK, De Beers and Mercury and Universal Records.

In addition to his fashion and portrait portfolio, Philip has worked with the BBC and Box TV on unit and publicity stills. Productions include: The Wind in the Willows, The Last Enemy, Ashes To Ashes and Clone.
Philip is an avid skier and likes to spend some the winter in the Alps photographing extreme sports. His clients include Olympus, Naxo and Millet.
