Corporate reorganisation at Olympus Europa GmbH
As a part of the Olympus global strategy to enhance effectiveness and value creation of its business areas, Olympus Europe has undergone a corporate reorganisation effective from April 1st, 2005. In addition to optimising the use of company resources, the move, which has been undertaken in all major Olympus centres worldwide, will put Olympus in a stronger position to respond quickly to the changing market conditions in each of its business areas. The realignment will therefore facilitate greater market competitiveness and guarantee the ability to meet customer demands more effectively, ensuring improved business results now and into the future.
As a consequence of the realignment, the operating business of the Olympus Europe is now structured as follows:
• Olympus Europa Holding GmbH acts as the umbrella organisation in order to ensure an integrated and uniform Olympus management. Under the direction of the chairman, its management board comprises the CEOs of the four newly-established organisations plus the president of the global Olympus corporation, Mr Tsuyoshi Kikukawa.
• Olympus Imaging Europa GmbH Offering a broad product range encompassing analogue and digital cameras (including the professional Olympus E-System digital SLRs), binoculars, voice recorders, the m:robe music players and accessories.
• Olympus Medical Systems Europa GmbH A strong partner in the field of medicine, it provides medical and surgical endoscopic equipment and system solutions for a wide range of applications, as well as reprocessing systems and a huge selection of accessories.
• Olympus Life and Material Science Europa GmbH Amalgamating the fields of microscopy and diagnostics, this company covers a wide scope of needs ranging from microscope systems that service all requirements in life and material science, to high-performance analytical systems and reagents for clinical laboratories.
