The AU400 is ideal as a primary chemistry analyser for small to medium size hospitals and laboratories, or as a dedicated speciality analyser for larger establishments.  Operators can automate and consolidate chemistry testing using Olympus System Reagents (OSR).

The OSR test menu includes serum, plasma, CSF and urine chemistries, specific proteins, non routine chemistries, TDM’s and DAU’s.  Most Olympus reagents are available in multiple kits sizes, so meeting the volume needs of any size laboratory.

The AU400 is a random access analyser with a throughput of up to 400 photometric tests per hour rising to 800 tests per hour when ISE’s are included.  The walkaway capability of the Olympus AU400 is enhanced by its ability to hold up to 80 samples and up to 51 online chemistries at any one time.  Different tube sizes, primary or secondary, may be mixed within the linear sample racks which can be loaded continuously.

With a sample volume as low as 2 µl and reaction volumes down to 150 µl the system guarantees both cost and sample material efficiency making the AU400 ideal for paediatric applications.

System reliability and safety is exemplified by state of the art washing stations, clot detection and crash prevention technology.  In addition, serum indices (hemolysis, icterus, lipemia) are automatically checked to ensure sample integrity.

The Olympus AU400 uses an interface which is common to all AU systems. The standard interface is designed to minimise the training requirements for laboratories with multiple AU systems.  Customers also have the option to personalise the format of the touchscreen software to meet local requirements.

Urgent samples can be processed on the dedicated STAT rotor, which can also hold calibration and control materials under cooled conditions.
